The great thing about Spreadex is that offers both normal fixed odds betting plus spread betting on horse racing. There are some key differences, of course, between this form of gambling and placing regular fixed odds bets.
Make the right call and punters could win big, but the potential to lose money can be much higher. Intrigued? Then check out this how to spread bet on horse racing guide:
Andrew heads to Newmarket’s afternoon Flat fixture where he has two recommended bets/trades on Friday, October 11th…
With the stalls in the centre, it’s difficult to know where they are going to race at Newmarket today but I’m going to back COTO DE CAZA in the Cornwallis Stakes in the hope that her high draw (stall 11 of 12) is not a disadvantage. Simon & Ed Crisford’s filly was denied a hat-trick when third to Star Of Mehmas in the Harry Roseberry at Ayr but that one-length defeat was worthy of an upgrade as she failed to settle and was drawn away from the action. Her patient style was also not ideal. The form of that race has already started to work out well with the patiently-ridden runner-up doing best of those drawn high when seventh of 19 in the Two Year Old Trophy and fourth-placed King Of Light, another who came from off the pace, scoring at Haydock next time. She’s going to get a very strong gallop to assist her according to the pace map and can be bought in the Spreadex 50-30-20-10 market.
Recommendation: Back COTO DE CAZA in Newmarket 1.47
There’s an interesting stat associated with the Old Rowley Mile Cup – nine of the last ten winners contested a Class 2 race on their latest start (those that didn’t were just one from 75). This rules out eight of the 15 runners – SPACEPORT, BRIONI, KITTERIDGE, HIGHLAND BLING, TROUVILLE, GIVE IT TO ME OJ, KILDARE LEGEND and DUE TO HENRY. In the past ten renewals of this 1m4f handicap simply backing all those who prepped in Class 2 company would have found nine winners from 82 bets for a profit of £28.83 to a £1 level stake at SP. This produces a shortlist of seven runners which we can narrow further by looking at running style. It’s difficult to make all in this race and backing those who were ridden patiently in their Class 2 prep race would have found seven winners from 46 bets for a profit of £45.83. Back in 2014 there were no less than 13 qualifiers but since then there have been between two and five and, this year, there are just three – GOODWOOD OSYSSEY, MOUNT ATLAS and SUN GOD. Of those, I’m going to take a punt on GOODWOOD ODYSSEY, whose last-time-out Ascot flop (fifth of nine when the 7-2 favourite) is easily excused. David Menusier’s colt failed to settle under Benoit De La Sayette that day but is two from three for today’s pilot Kieran Shoemark, with the defeat in the London Gold Cup at Newbury where 1m2f on good ground provided an inadequate test of stamina. Buy in the Spreadex 50-30-20-10 market or take a fixed odds price.
Recommendation: Back GOODWOOD ODYSSEY in Newmarket 4.10
