The Kentucky Wildcats are getting prepared for a tough road matchup on Saturday night as they head to Starkville to face off against the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
Sitting as a top-15 team in the country, it will be a tough one against the Bulldogs tomorrow night, but it is a place that Mark Pope is familiar with playing.
In his press conference on Thursday afternoon, Pope was asked about his experiences playing Mississippi State, and the UK head coach gave a cool answer. He pointed to one of the games he talks about the most, the loss to the Bulldogs in the SEC Tournament in 1996.
Kentucky split the two games that season, with the Cats getting the victory in Starkville but falling in New Orleans in the SEC Championship Game. Both teams wound up making the Final Four, and the Cats won it all.
Let’s hope Kentucky can get the bounce-back game going and pull off another huge resume-building win tomorrow night.
