The Kentucky Wildcats returned to Rupp Arena Tuesday evening for their second exhibition game of the preseason, welcoming Minnesota State to Lexington.
After a slow start, the Cats raced by the Mavericks with impressive games from Jaxson Robinson, Brandon Garrison, and Andrew Carr. They also welcomed back a key guard to their rotation in Kerr Kriisa, who’s been hindered by a hamstring injury for several weeks and missed the exhibition win over Kentucky Wesleyan.
Against Minnesota State, Kriisa played 16 minutes while scoring three points on 1/4 shooting, all from 3-point land. He also added an impressive six assists and four rebounds on the night while committing no turnovers.
After the game, Kriisa expressed his excitement for the regular season to UK Sports Network reporter Michelle Knezovic.
“Hell yeah. Hell yeah. Ready. Bring it on,” he said.
A great compliment to the style of play that Lamont Butler brings to the floor, the BBN got a sneak peek into the intensity we have heard Kerr plays with each second he is on the floor.
With some good open looks alongside some great outlet passes in the fast break, it’s obvious that Kriisa is going to bring an instant spark to the offense when he steps on the floor.
I also wholeheartedly believe we are going to see a few “Kerr Kriisa” games this season. Let’s hope he continues to take steps forward.
