Team India will look to finetune their preparations ahead of the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy as they take on England in a three-match ODI series, starting in Nagpur on Thursday (6 February). India, led by Suryakumar Yadav, recently
defeated Jos Buttler’s England 4-1 in a five-match T20I series but the seniors return to the national setup to play the ODIs.
Rohit Sharma will lead the Men in Blue whereas other seniors like Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Shami also feature. On Tuesday, spinner
Varun Chakravarthy was also named in the squad for the ODI series against England following an excellent outing in the five T20Is, where he picked up 14 wickets.
One notable absentee from India’s updated squad is that of pacer Jasprit Bumrah. Bumrah had suffered a back spasm during the fifth Test against Australia in Sydney in January, and has been out of competitive cricket ever since. Bumrah arrived in Bengaluru on Sunday to undergo an assessment of his injury, after which a final call on his Champions Trophy participation will be taken.
