The recruitment of Acaden Lewis is nearing its end.
This coming weekend, Lewis will officially visit the Duke Blue Devils for their Midnight Madness event.
Afterward, Lewis plans to visit the Kentucky Wildcats, though an official date has not yet been set.
In the meantime, we’ve got a small update on Lewis’ recruitment.
First, it was revealed in an interview with 247 Sports’ Dushawn London that Lewis is no longer considering North Carolina. Lewis is officially down to Kentucky, Duke, and UConn, the latter of which he officially visited on September 20th.
In addition, Lewis reiterated that he plans to make a fall decision.
“I’m looking to make my decision in early November,” Lewis told 247 Sports. “I’m really just looking for an opportunity, and I need to see who else coming in the class, rosters, who’s coming back, who’s leaving, and stuff like that.”
Lewis also gave his thoughts on Kentucky while adding that his visit to Lexington will be announced very soon.
“They’ve been cool and been recruiting me hard. Jasper (Johnson) was at this camp (John Wootten Top 150 camp), so he did a little recruiting. Their message is similar, they say I can come in and have the opportunity to play. People are leaving next season, so it’s a good opportunity.”
Heading down the stretch, Kentucky is believed to be the favorite — Trilly Donovan recently predicted Kentucky to be the pick on his Discord page — but never count out two-time defending champion UConn, nor Duke, who continues to be a machine on the high school recruiting trail.
Let’s see if Mark Pope and Co. can lock this down.
